sympathy card

 Recently made a card for a friend of mine who recently

lost her sister.  Wanted something a little different

not so 'traditional'

so went with this old stamp from Paperbag Studio.

I fussy cut the girls out - the background Kraft paper has some white paint splattered.  Letters punched out and glued / then some silver threads.

The inside I used this saying

Always so hard when someone leaves our lives.

This is so true....

This new stamp from Technique Junkies is

perfect for any crafter.

I have spilled paint / burned a hole in the floor /

dropped my scissors pointed end in the floor.

Glitter and tape and glue - oh my - the list goes on.

 For this card I embossed the saying with three different colours of embossing powder - then layered onto black cardstock.

The background is an alcohol ink one I did awhile back.

some ripped papers layered on...

and ready to go !

Grandson's Birthday Card

Welcome to my blog today ..

Well it is my grandsons 4th birthday today.

Him being the only grandchild - he may get spoiled a (wee) bit 

This little monster is from a recollections stamps set I have of monsters.  So I stamped him on the kraft paper along with the Happy Birthday saying.  Then I spattered with white paint.

The Balloon I cut out using a margarine lid lol - worked great !!!

I embossed the monster on white cardstock / coloured in/ then fussy cut out - layed overtop the original stamped one underneath.

Die cut for the age...string to hang onto the balloon shape.

and ta da !!!

Oh, and a googly eye and sparkles on the horns hehehe

Was fun to put together -

Coffee Ladies.... Technique Junkies

 Ah yes, coffee, the wake me up smell in the morning !!!

Today I have two cards that I made using new stamps from

Technique Junkies

First up is the 'coffee girl' along with a previously

released stamp 'you call it coffee' 

 

Used my nuvo pen for some glitter on her glasses 

Also used stencil available at Technique Junkies for the background.

Next up is the 'happy housewife' stamp along with a couple of new releases  'jet fuel' and 'coffee to go'

I did the background with the coffee cup and using a previously relase stamp 'birthstone' stamped coffee on the cups.

She has been coloured and fussy cut out ...

then of course the jet fuel saying layered on.

down one side.

The image is stamped onto some alcohol ink background I had made

Then layered on a couple of different papers.

My first make is this great 'all about spring' background stamp along with 'vine floral'

I stamped the floral then masked the flowers - then stamped the background stamp on top.   

 

Can you see the sparkle ???  Used my Nuvo pen on the flowers!

Next up is another new background stamp - 'pretty line florals'

With this I stamped and embossed in white.  Then using my paint powders and spritzed with water.  Gave a beautiful background. 

I then layered with one of the previously released sayings

All about Vellum !!!

Had a challenge of what to do with some printed vellum

that has been laying around.  here is what I ended up with.

Three different cards.

all very easy - but outcome was great !!!

The Palm card is just vellum folded over my white card and a couple

of holes punched in the top for the string to hold in place.

The black one - oval cut out vellum placed in behind (like a window)

and the Happy birthday card just a piece of vellum on card stock - I used glue dots to hold in place.

Some great new 'cat' stamps were released this

month at Technique Junkies.

This first card using the new Curly-Tailed cats background stamp

and All These Cats saying. I masked off the top of the cat saying for the top portion of the card.

On the inside I used a previously released stamp ( You're Purrfect #SDX219)

for the 'purrfect'

So on playing around with the Curly tail stamp I made a few bookmarks 

for my cat crazy friends ( we all have at least one of those)

This card I masked off the bottom part of the 'all these cats' saying

Then on the inside put the rest of it in ...

Valentines Cards

 Yes - the day of Love is almost here !!!

Sharing three cards I made using the stamps from January release

Technique Junkies

First up is the one I have made for my guy.  The die cut heart in craft paper - little bit of ink around the edge - Stamped the saying then splattered with some paint.

Next - Is that love in the air??? not...

Tis the smell of bacon I love...sorry LOL

Embossed the saying over the heart.  All done in the black and white - class right ???

Last one - of course my son asking for a card almost last minute ahhahaha

Embossed the All about Love background stamp in white then edged it with some gold.

Black and white vellum background and a couple of blings.

February - new stamps release at Technique Junkies !!!!

 It's time again for new stamps from

Technique Junkies !!!!

What what a great array of ones to choose from.

Gotta have it all??

Starting off I am sharing a couple of fridge magnets

I made.

Life is definitely better with a dog!!! I stamped the image

on oval paper - a bit of distress stain with my 

colourful life stencil then I clear embossed it.

The Coffee one I used a previously release background stamp

(writers block)  and BTW if you cannot find your 'ring' stamp for coffee stains - I used the top off my laundry detergent lol.

I had some coffee paper laying around so cut out the circles of those and layered with the rest.  Again lots of stressing of the edges

Also, on my dog magnet - layered with some dog paper/stressed the edges.

It is St. Patricks day this month.

Using the new background stamp - I clear embossed

then sponged ink on top.

I left a portion of the paper with no embossing

and did my rainbow.  Then I embossed and fussy cut out

a buncha shamrocks from this stamp.

Watch for more makes this month with the new stamp release

 Welcome my crafty friends

Today I am sharing three Valentine cards I made

using new release stamps from Technique Junkies

First up is the 'Open Heart' (#S995) stamp

and using one of the words from the Inside out stamps

all embossed in red - then added the ribbon and flowers

Next up - Pretty in pink?

Kept this one simple - sponged the heart shape onto white cardstock.

Using the Inside Out: Love is in the Air stamp (#SS158)

some bling around the edged.

On the inside - LOL - gotta luv it.

Next up using 'All About Love' (#S979) stamp

on the cut out heart shape  - embossed with white

Postcards

 Okay - so when is the last time you sent

or received a post card???  Well today I am sharing

a couple that I have made (and yes - sent out)

first is this one using one of my favourite Technique Junkies

stamp - Field Flowers - I coloured lightly some of the

leaves and flowers.

Last one - **This is not any of Technique Junkies stamp** -

Wanted to send my pen pal, who is 6 YO, a postcard.

this worked perfectly.  I stamped the face then used a stencil

and carefully did the drops all around.

Was thinking this maybe a cool way to send out Christmas greetings this year too....
