Altered Altoid Tin

Well - I should be headed out to Moose Jaw, SK for the annual Saskatchewan Festival of Words !  Such a blast -

Today I am sharing a tin I altered for my daughter from our trip to New Brunswick back in April.

So there will be more pictures than I normally post...

Start with the tin...on the outside - covered with some old book pages - washi tape and nuance. (oops think this is upside down LOL)
I have printed a bunch of photos (on the left) to put inside the tin.
Had a hard time trying to chose which ones !!  But all layered onto black cardstock too...
Inside completed....
Outter edge...some rick rack goin' on....
Insides..about 20 pictures...

Then - the outside done - the photo on top I used UTEE and cracked it.  Added some micro gold beads...

So I made this card using my washi tape....and left it in the calendar book for him.

ATC

HEY - thanks for stopping by ... today I am sharing an ATC (Artist Trading Card) - for those who have not done one it is 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches of art !!  And there are thousands of us out there that will trade ... all sorts of groups etc.  Great challenge for the creative mind to put all the thoughts into a small space lol.

WELL - this card I made using my Imagine Design Create stamp sets - Inspirational Quotes and Floral mini.
I stamped white card stock with the same saying over and over again to cover it.  Then I embossed the little flowers with gold, painted some and of course bling in the middle.

ALL this layered, and a touch of die cut leaf.

FOR the display the 4 x 6 black cardstock fit right in this frame - put the ATC on - which really matched the frame colour !!!  Now have this sitting in my craft room.

and as Pooh used to say - TTFN

playing around....

Hi there my crafty friends....just trying to clean up my desk a bit.  So sharing today a couple of cards I made with existing images laying around.

This beautiful lady is layered on top of embossed wax paper.
the leaves have spectrum glitter on them but you can't really see in this pic.

Next is this gate fold card - the panels are from printed vellum. Like an old newspaper - so using my 3 wise gentlemen (is there really such a thing hehehe...sorry guys)  it seemed to fit the theme

Thanks for visiting.

find strength .....

Hi there my crafty friends - today my subject is about being strong.
I made this circle card with Imagine Design Create inspirational quotes and the floral fun mini .

The Background is made using the 'shaving cream' technique...(smells so good).  Although I have created my own background - Imagine Design Create have their own range of designer paper - check it out.
And check out their blog....

I have a couple of friends battling Cancer and thought this would be a great card to send.  Such a fight !!

BTW if you are wondering about how it sits - I did make a little stand in the back , sorta like an easel card - and works great to hold this baby up. (the original pattern didn't have that)

Altered Coasters

Hi there !  thanks for stopping by - today I am sharing my coasters I did - which started out looking like this....I know I know - why would I wanted to cover such a great saying LOL...(TBH I have a few more around)

So I covered the lady in gesso - and ripped a page out of an old book - laid it on top and let it dry.

Spritzed a bit of my nuance powder on top.  Roughed up the edges and sponged them up a bit.

Stamped some flourishes once it was all dried out.  Using my images from Alpha Stamps  I fussy cut them out and glued some wings onto them - popped them up on the coaster.

The Saying is from Rubber Moon...

Must say it was a fun project.

Guest Designer!!

Whoo Hoo !! Pleased to announce that I am a guest designer with Imagine Design Create from over the big pond !!

Got a set of stamps from Kerri-Ann at Imagine Design Create today and went to work right away to make a quick card using the 'Inspirational Quotes'.

Great sayings !!!

Really thought my butterfly would give that dreamy feeling with this saying which I embossed onto my paper....and adding a few vellum butterflies too...

Layered my papers and roughed up the edges for some texture.
and of course a girl has to have a bit of bling....just sayin...

Believe....

I love this image from Stampsmith !!

This is stamped with staz on onto acetate - then layered.
edges are stressed, torn and inked up.

The saying is from Sheena.  Thought it went with this image as this little guy is trying to have the birds sing his song...sure he believed he could make it work. .... like magic....

Good day my crafty friends...thanks for stopping by...

I tried a new technique - probably not really new - but I had never tried it before...

Glittery Butterflies

Hey there Hi there Ho there !!! Thanks for stopping by.
Today I am sharing a couple of butterfly cards I made using packing tape.   Using my cuttlebug I cut out the image - then cut another from a different paper - switched the paper and inlaid the other colour...yikes lol ... think I am confusing meself.

Anyway - on the backside I used packing tape so sticky side shows through the from of the butterfly - then sprinkle sparkles on top.

Thought it turned out pretty cool....so many possibilities with this process.  Kept it simple today.

sCrAp DaY....

Well a couple of weeks ago I was hanging out in my craft room wondering what to do.  Been on holidays a bit and need to get my mojo up and running....well....off to my left there is this box!!
(I know y'all have a similar one somewhere)

and this box collects "stuff" so I thought time to clean it out.

Bits and pieces of paper - stamped images - folded cards etc....

Some went to recycling - some to a few quickie cards and well, sorry to say - some are staying in the box hehehehe

But all in all - got some cleared out - and some cards to use when needed.  I leave them blank so I can add a saying when needed for an occasion.

thanks for visiting....ttfn

Trinket Box

Hi there and thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Today I am sharing a trinket box I altered from a cardboard cheese container.

First I painted the outside of the box in a cream colour.

Then using some tissue paper and some gesso I covered the lid.  On the bottom inside added some printed cardstock.

The inside lid - the other side of the cardstock - add some small butter flys and a saying from my new stamp set from Lynnes Affirmations available at Thats Crafty.

The top added some flowers and a larger butterfly layer with smaller ones - some pearls on the wings.  Made this for my step daughter - hope she likes it.

Weird Framed Art

Hey there - thanks for visiting - Today I am sharing my framed art I made awhile back for Halloween and didn't get a chance to share!!!

For the frame I modge podged some white tissue paper that I stamped with the skull crown stamp from Lost Coast.  Once dried I added some modeling paste for texture.  Rubbed some black and silver Inka gold sporadically.

Inside the frame the background was done with Nuance - spritzed a bit of sparkle on.  Stamped with my small flourish stamp.  A bit of netting.  The the Die Cut bird cage I stressed with a fine sandpaper.
The image -I fussy cut out and did the  spotlight technique for the face.

postcard mingle

Hi there my crafty friends - today I am sharing a challenge I was in to make a postcard.  And yes - using my favourite technique -do hope you are not tired of seeing it.

So of course - sponged the 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inch card.  The center part I spritzed with water.  And you can't see it - but it is a bit sparkly on the petals around the eye.

Used a mish mosh of different stamps.

Thanks for Visiting.

It's a Girl

One of my daughters friend is having a baby girl soon.  So I sent over an afghan I made along with this card.

It's hard to see but the image is covered with sugar beads - luv that technique.

Then did lots of layering and ribbon for accent.
