For our superhero !!!

My Son in Laws birthday coming up soon.  Always challenged what to make him for a card !!!   Found this saying this summer while toodling at one of the craft stores.

Funny Bones by Riley  & Company.....I seem to be getting a collection of thier stamps ....always make me laugh !!!

The background is done with the faux leather technique.  Stamped the guy with white script.....and popped him up a bit.  A little distressing and a little man bling (can't be too flashy !!)

and so it begins !!!

My busiest birthday season that many for October and November (and a couple in December)

This is one of the first ones I made using a stamp from Sheena.

I stamped it onto glossy paper with a staz on black...coloured in a bit of grass and of course the cow's crown .....bit of layering and added the grass for accent.  Simple put together but came out kinda cute.

Flower Deco pages

Getting near the end of this round of deco pages.  This set theme was flowers.

This first one I used a stamp from Impression Obsession - stamped it onto vellem. ripped the edges.  Then I layered paper and flowers all over.

the second one I used a stamp from Invoke Arts , Impression Obsession and Hero Arts.   Using vellum again I stamped the flowers in different colours then embossed with clear.  Underneath on the card stock I stamped the flower in staz on black for a shadow look.

Dot's Decos

Hello my crafty friends !!! Thought I would share with you today the deco pages I made my friend over the big pond.  Her theme is navy and cream with children images.   This is what I came up with.

Using my images from Stampsmith !  Luv their photo stamps.  This is what my end results were.  Do hope she likes them.

For those who are wondering what a deco page is - it is about a 5 x 5 inch piece of art work.  The person picks a theme like Dot has ( mine is anything that flies).  So a group of us make two pages each to send - by the end you have a great book of different ideas for your theme. !!!

Tree Deco Pages

I don't know why...but I struggled with this theme.  Took me forever to come up with this design.

I decided to do some sponging !!!  Using my tree from Simple Expressions and the saying from Rubber Moon.  Punched out a bunch of tiny butterflys from some pinky coloured vellum.

The next one.....

My tree stamp from Local King..and the saying from Stamping up.

In both pages I embossed the trees in Gold.

Hello my crafty friends !  I have the good fortune of offering a giveaway from Stampington & Company.

Graduation Day !!!!

Our grand daughter is graduating !!!    Can't believe it !!!

Wanted to do a special card for her.  Something classy.

I don't own a Sizzix, or Big Shot, or Cuttlebug etc.  So I beg - borrow - and steal (not really) from my friends.

Layers of white and black.....and using my Stampin' Up Celebrate stamp.

Wishing her all the best in this big world !!!!

here she is getting ready !  So proud of her.....

Hello my crafty friends - hope your weather is as wonderful as mine is right now on the west coast !  Luvin' it !

Just finished an ATC - theme is the letter J - so either decorate up the letter or something with that letter in it.   This is what I came up with - Journey - and this guy is wanting to go on one. (or maybe that is me)

For those of you not sure what an ATC is - it is a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch piece of artwork !

This card I used stamps from Memory Box for the background, Picture Show for the wheelie guy and Paper Artsy for the words.

A little piece of Washi tape....added on....

got MONO?

Going to share with you the cards we made at the class on Sunday past.  It was a bit of a messy day....but think everyone enjoyed.

The first share is the Monochromatic card.

It really is amazing how just using one colour can look so cool.

Not sure if you can see but we also used some white glitter to highlight the edge of the tags.....

Music Deco pages.....

WELL the theme for this set of deco pages is was worded..."Music...inspired by something you love".

I love to be able to sing (and yes. dance) to a song.  May not be a pretty sight....but life is too short not to enjoy a few moments once in awhile LOL.

so my first page...taken from Cindy Lauper song....stamps used for both pages is from Art Impressions.
Like - who doesn't sing and dance to that !!!  I saw her in concert once ...she is fab !

the next one is based on an oldie....think all the oldies we can sing too.  At least we can understand the words....heheheheee
I think this one is a self portrait.

Sure hope she like my interpretation of Music as as the other pages sent to her were very different.

Throwback Thursday

Hello my crafty friends.   Well I have been a bit under the weather lately - and my newer projects not quite ready to post so thought I would share a couple of my 'old work' that I liked.

This one I had embossed the face and coloured in the eye.  Cut it out and mounted on ripped paper.  Stamped the bees in Black and coloured only a few.  Then did shrinky dinks for more bees...I luv weird stuff LOL.
This was a fun one !  the fairy trying to get out of the bird cage.  Did this one for my mom quite a few years ago....
And finally - this was an image challenge card. (someone mails you the image and you need to make something with it)  I really like this one - using the step card.

Think this throwback thursday might become a regular thing here...what do you think????

Her 90th

My daughter wanted a special card for her grandmothers 90th
birthday.   Something large that she could see as the old girls sight is almost gone.

Went with the vintage look 6 x 6 card.  Didn't bother with any saying on the front as she probably could not see it.  Large coloured flowers glued on.

This is very similar to the card I taught back in March....but why reinvent the wheel if one doesn't have to.

Distressed the edges a bit...added some flourishes .... and Of course - used my Flapper girl stamp from Stampsmith.

OOPS ....I did it again.

They should make a song like that hahhaaa

Anyway - just a quick card as I needed a couple to pop out.
So using my herringbone technique again put this card together.

The stamp is from River City Rubber.

Great way to use up some scraps !!!!

Flowers is the theme

Showing the next set of Deco pages ( 5 x 5 art work) for one of my buddies over at the KCUK group.  Her theme was Flowers.

Here is what I came up with.

Using my Crafty Individuals stamp with the Lilys.  Rubbed my Marvey/Tombow Markers on the stamp - then pressed onto my glossy paper.  did some layering.....added some vintage pink velvet ribbon.
The second page - using the same image - cut into inches.  Covering both with some daisys punched out...and pearl stickles in the middle of those.

Of course not complete without a picture of Tiger Lily taken when I was at my daughters in Moose Jaw  Sask.

Hope she likes them .......

My next set of Deco pages ( 5 x 5) for Cynthia over at KCUK - her theme is Vintage.
The first page I stressed the layered cardstock.  The Graphic 45 image is covered in sugar beads.  Tattered the lace. and added a bit of this and that....

Using my Flapper girl from Stampsmith stamps.   Layered - added lace etc.....

Hope she likes them !!!!

Deco Pages

And the theme is Africa.....
Doing different pages for my group over the big pond KCUK.

Deco pages are 5 x 5 art work that you decorate to the theme the recepient has chosen.

This first page I embossed the Zebra face and what you can't see is that I cut out the front of the face and popped it up for some 3D depth.  Stamp used is from The Artful Stamper.

Lots of grasses and the Zebras walking away - using my stamp set from Local King Rubber Stamps and the saying from Rubber Stampede.

with sympathy

One of our friends mother passed away - and wanted to get a card out quick.

I masked my card stock and stamped with Hero Arts - manuscript.

 Added the little butterfly....and done.

This would be very versatile for any occasion...but today. as sad one.
