Frida

My first make of the month with Lost Coast Designs

the theme is

'I am Woman'

So who better to start off with than Frida Kahlo !!!!
There are several stamps to choose from, she was so famous for doing self portraits.

This image I stamped onto acetate with staz on ink.
layered onto white cardstock

The flower background is paper napkin ironed onto cardstock ( just place some plastic wrap in between and iron makes great backgrounds)

So lots of layers to make it all pop

Upload your I AM WOMAN make - maybe win some rubber.
Just remember to have some stamping on your card

Life is Good

Fruit, Flowers & Foliage theme at Lost Coast Designs this month

For this make I used a couple of stamps.  First for the Background the

I embossed onto the cardstock with clear embossing powder then used my distress inks.
Emboss resist technique. Did a few drips of water for more texture.

Then I fussy cut out the 'Happy Cat' (one of my fav stamps)
Left him in black and white
Layered onto the background design

Punched out some flowers, put a wee bling on each one.

Then I thought this guy looks so content - so ya - life is good.

Found Pear-fection

February challenge at Lost Coast Designs - Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.

Today I am sharing a slimline ( 3 1/4 x 6 1/2) card made with the Pear from the Persian Set.

The Pears were embossed, two in gold on white, one in silver on navy.
Each pear is on 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 paper

An additional shiny white cardstock was cut 2 3/4 x 6 1/4 which had the
ribbon wrapped around , popped up a bit, then the Pears placed on.

Also see the edges of the Pears were also embossed.

I always like to have a few blank cards available for 'just in case'

Can't wait to see your make in this theme, post yours at the monthly challenge link

So on saying that, here is my first make for the month !

Using the ATC shrubbery stamp I came up with this

The circle background is some alcohol inks I used awhile back.

So I stamped my 4 1/2 square cardstock, then placed my circle

where I wanted it and stamped again.

Inked the edges with some blue , added a couple of butterflies (which btw were punched out of vellum) , and a layer of blue -

Then the saying was typed up on the computer.  Was trying to think of a saying that would work with this

This one just seemed so true.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Love Gnomes

It's Gnome-Vember over at Lost Coast Designs this month !!!

So Continuing with our Gnome theme for the
month I have a couple of makes to share

First up is the Tulip Gnome

This card finished is 5 1/2 inches square

The portion where the gnome is is 4 1/4 inches square

I stamped him about a third of the way up and coloured him in
Then lightly sponged very light blue to make it look like he was standing on
a mountain,

Then I masked the gnome and the hill and added the yellow circle in behind
Masked that too and added some gold splatters

Sponged the edges in orange and added some sparkle to the heart and flower
and just a simple saying

Added black cardstock underneath to pop the image - and done !

Next Up ...
A couple of book marks.

One with Side Sign Gnome - the other from Mini Gnome set

Using a couple of old stencils for the back on the brown one

Then the blue one I used the stencil back and front.
Nice and quick to make - and makes a nice little gift for
your bookworms
